PARTNERS & CASE STUDIES

At Catai, for over half-a-decade, our rich experience incubates specialized knowledge, fortifies understanding of acquisition in a digital age, and bridges gaps, so government and industry experts can confer and lead.

HAWAII

One of Catai’s recent signature Indo-Pacific engagements explored the complexity of collaboration amid rising threats in the region and the impact of the global pandemic.

A key insight:

Collaboration, is now exceptionally difficult, dynamic, and multi-faceted. Military experts resolved compression and bandwidth, especially, need to improve. This simplifies use, and background dependency and confronts that the cloud doesn’t really exist at the tactical edge. In this context, going forward, for C2 functions, and the broader fight tonight, reliance on a secure commercial internet and partnership is going to be significant. There’s a clear need to harness industry horsepower and ingenuity, which engineers and communicates at the true edge.

This experience featured Former Sec. of the Army Patrick Murphy, USARPAC Deputy Commander Matthew McFarlane, JSOC’s Senior Technical Advisor -J6 Development Leader, Shawn E. Petermann, 311 Signal Commander Brigadier General Jan Norris, as well as other global leaders and experts from all U.S. military branches, Australia, Guam, the special ops community, DISA, and USARPAC.

DUBLIN, IRELAND

In Dublin, Ireland, over 4 days, industry executives joined Former Sec. of Defense Ash Carter, and an elite group of 200 stakeholders from the global special ops and intel community building on the military’s emphasis of software defined networks which using machine learning, rapidly performs task reorganization, supports cyber operations, and overcomes downgraded networks.

A key insight:

CEO Biney Dhillon of NTS, a growing cloud to edge solutions provider, distilled how using an infrastructure as code can leverage modern cloud native tech to deploy services and components to the edge. Connectivity issues can be caused by topography like mountains or buildings that block signals; on-the-move communications; or, increasingly, enemy jamming, but innovations are enabling a consistent deployment model, simplifying secure operations at scale.
